Pressure Switch

The pressure switch is a pilot safety device that allows operation of the unit only when fuel gas is available for the burner. If something should happen to the fuel gas supply, the pressure switch will open the circuit and will shut down the system. This safety device prevents failed ignition attempts and will help you easily diagnose any issues in the fuel supply line.

  • Senses loss of fuel prompting system shut down

  • Provides operation flexibility with ability to be set normally open or normally closed
  • Adjustable from 2 psi – 12 psi

Slow Flow Valve

The slow flow valve is a manually adjustable needle valve that allows users to control the flow of gas to the temperature control valve. By controlling the flow of gas to the temperature control valve, the slow flow valve protects the component from surges in gas pressure, resulting in steady operation of the main burner flame.

Specs

  • Required on pilotless installations that do not use actuator valves
  • Reduces inrush of fuel gas into diaphragm valve for simple and consistent ignition
  • Recommended for piloted installations to optimize performance

Coalescing Filter

Good fuel conditions support optimal operation of the ignition unit and prevent premature deterioration of fuel train components. The coalescing filter removes any moisture in the gas that can compromise combustion quality and removes any dirt and particulates that can build up in valves and other components, affecting their ability to function properly.

Specs

  • Removes 99.97% of particles from .3 to .6 micron range
  • Absolute removal rating at .75 micron level
  • 99.98% efficiency in removal of oil aerosols from compressed air
  • Recommended on all fuel trains

Resistance Temperature Detector

The resistance temperature detector (RTD) continuously monitors the process temperature to ensure fluid temperatures remain within optimal operation range. The RTD provides precise temperature feedback to the system controls, allowing the unit to generate the highest quality product.

  • Detects the process temperature
  • Temperature range from 0-500 ºF
  • Simple three-wire termination
  • Available in 5, 6 and 9-in. models

Designed for use with the Flame Smart Ei3

6-in. Thermocouple

The thermocouple is a temperature-monitoring device typically used to measure a range of temperatures higher than an RTD can measure. Like the RTD, the thermocouple continuously monitors process temperature to ensure the process remains within safe operating range.

Specs

  • Type K thermocouple used to detect process temperature
  • Temperature range is 32ºF – 2400ºF and is set in conjunction with the Flame Smart Ei3 controller
  • Simple two-wire termination
  • Available in 6-in. size

12 Volt Flame Smart Actuator

The actuator valve is an electronically controlled ball valve that gradually introduces fuel gas to the system burner for smooth combustion control. The actuator valve is specially designed to work with the Flame Smart BMS circuit board with preset programmed timing. Stable ignition and process combustion control is critical to maintain safe and efficient operation of every system managed with Flame Smart technology.

1-in. Flame Smart Solenoid Valve

Used in line with the actuator valve, the 1-in. Flame Smart solenoid valve is a protection device used to isolate the main burner in the case of routine shutdown or emergency.

¼-in. ASCO Solenoid Valve

The ¼-in. ASCO solenoid valve can be used in multiple locations to provide safe and immediate fuel line operation in the case of system shutdown. Installed in line with the slow flow valve, the ¼-in. solenoid valve will isolate the temperature control valve during shutdown conditions. When closed, the ¼-in. solenoid valve prevents fuel gas from flowing to the temperature control valve, resulting in the valve remaining shut. Installed in the pilot line, the ¼-in. solenoid valve will directly isolate fuel from traveling to the pilot burner during standard or emergency shut down.

Weather Guard

The weather guard protects the pilot from rain and snow, keeping the heating element dry and able to ignite gas reliably. Protecting the pilot also allows for stable combustion, which results in ideal operation of the ignition unit and flare.

  • Flame Smart weather guards protect the pilot from inclement weather and extreme conditions, ensuring effective and consistent ignition at all times.

Designed for use in flare applications that operate in harsh or volatile environments, the Weather Guard can be  in conjunction with a Flame Smart Ei or Ei3.

Pilot Assembly

The Pilot Assembly is used to mix air and pilot fuel prior to introducing them to the pilot burner. Good air/fuel mixture is critical for both stable and complete combustion, which ensures consistent and reliable operation of the system.

Specs

  • Can be used with a #72 orifice
  • Mixes fuel and air for piloted use

The Flame Smart Pilot Assembly is designed for use in combustor and naturally drafted burner applications in conjunction with either the Flame Smart Ei or Ei3.

Flame Smart Venturi

The Venturi is an air mixer that allows for a pre-mix of pilot fuel and ambient air prior to introducing them to the pilot burner. The Venturi is used in outdoor applications where the part’s construction prevents cross winds and other adverse conditions from affecting the performance of the pilot fuel mixture. Eliminating negative conditions helps guarantee optimal operation, as stable and complete combustion is critical to reliable performance of the system.

  • Can be used with a #60 or #72 orifice
  • Mixes fuel and air for pilot use
